ARC Address Change in Korea
When you move to a new apartment in Korea, immigration law requires you to report your new address within 14 days — on your ARC and in the immigration system. Missing the deadline can result in fines. This guide covers the process for foreigners.

The 14-day rule
You must report a change of residence within 14 days of moving. This applies whether you are renting, staying in a goshiwon, or moving in with family. The clock starts on your move-in date, not your lease start date if they differ.
Documents you typically need
- Your current ARC (Alien Registration Card)
- Passport
- New lease contract (임대차계약서) or accommodation confirmation
- Completed address change application form
- Landlord or building manager contact (sometimes required for verification)

How to report your new address
- Online (HiKorea) — Some visa types can start the process at hikorea.go.kr under civil petition / residence change.
- In person — Visit your local immigration office or community center (주민센터) depending on your situation. Book an appointment when possible.
- Receive updated ARC — You may get a sticker on your current card or a new card issued — office procedure varies.
